Skin boosters are injectable treatments that improve the skin's appearance, elasticity, hydration, and texture. They are a less invasive alternative to dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections and are made up of predominantly Hylauronic acid found naturally within our bodies.
Within the skin, Hylauronic acid plays an important role in hydrating, supporting the normal function of the cells, supports wound healing, boosts collagen in the skin, plumps and creates a more youthful appearance. It is a humectant which means it retains moisture and is able to bind over 1000 times it weight in water.
Individuals who experience dry/dehydrated skin, fine lines and wrinkles, skin laxity (mild sagging/crepey), dull skin, skin with uneven texture can benefit from this procedure. Those with good skin who want to preserve their youthful looks may also consider skin boosters as a preventive treatment against skin ageing.
Depending on the type of skin booster brand used, you can typically expect results to last between 6-9months.
To maintain a youthful look it is advised that a top up is performed every 6 months. Regular monthly facials (re Micro-needling, deep cleansing, peels, should continue as normal).
Like any injectable treatment using a needle, there is always going to be some form of sensation or mild discomfort. However, numbing cream used prior to the treatment can help to minimise any discomfort. Although it is not mandatory.
You can expect the treatment to be carried out and completed within 45minutes. This includes a thorough consultation.
It is not advisable to have this treatment whilst pregnant or breastfeeding.

Polynucleotides
Polynucleotides are chains of nucleotides which are essentially the building blocks that make up our DNA.
DNA controls many important bodily functions, including how the skin develops. When polynucleotides are introduced to the skin through multiple small injections they help damaged DNA cells repair and function better.
Polynucleotides stimulate fibroblasts. Fibroblasts help form our collagen and elastin, which are proteins that support our skin, give volume, shape and a youthful appearance. When our collagen and elastin depletes as we age, fine lines and wrinkles, poor texture and tone appear.
Clients who suffer with dehydrated skin, pigmentation, acne scarring, rosacea, inflamed skin, dark circles and puffiness around the eyes, lose skin around the eye lid, (“smokers lines”) deeper lines on the upper lip, neck.
